Insertional Achilles Tendonitis

Insertional Achilles tendinitis is the degeneration of the fibres of the Achilles tendon directly at its insertion into the heel bone. This condition is commonly seen in people between the ages of 40-50 years. It is normally associated with other conditions such as gout psoriasis etc. and can also be caused due to the use of medications such as steroids and certain antibiotics.

  • Tenderness at the back of the heel
  • Swelling
